Hello, I'm Walt, I also have "the Vintage Semi Automatic Sporting Rifles" forum. vintagesemiautorifle.proboards.com/index.cgi? and I've been pretty active with "the Great Remington 8 and 81" forum. thegreatmodel8.remingtonsociety.com/I got to go to the Tulsa gun show some years ago now and while visiting the Banzai table, I picked up a little pamphlet by Lew Curtis on Chinese pistols. I'd never seen such a variety of interesting pistols before. I had been getting interested in Japanese firearms and was reading everything I could about Japanese firearms. I had also just bought myself a Type 99 "substitute" rifle (though at the time I just knew of it as a "last ditch") and a Type 38. Anyway, I now have an interest in the vast range of Chinese made and used firearms and an desire to learn more. Thus this board. I hope someone finds it interesting. Someone else finds just the bit of information for which they were seeking. And a third someone helps us all figure out the exceedingly complicated story of Pre-1950 Chinese firearms.

Howdy Walt, I'm Dave from Tennessee, I'm interested in the history of the Asian area too, and learning there is much to learn, but very little in english. Thanks for the website! I do enjoy the vintage semi-auto site too, and hope this one becomes as useful as that one. Regards, tnhillbilly

Hello Walt. We've already met via Gunboards. Thanks for the link. I think we can turn this into a very fascinating, and informative site. This is an area, in which, hardly no man has gone before. I've seen quite a few 1900 types listed on auction sites over the years, but paid them little mind. And how many have I seen at gunshows, that went completely unoticed? Look forward to learning a lot, and maybe braggin' a little. Happy Holidays, Michael.

No, that pamphlet is not online. But if you contact Lew Curtis, he may still have some copies he could supply you with. gigconceptsinc.com/
